Try some other things ' or < for less than, or " for a double quotation mark.

Pumatix2025-03-29 06:39:29 UTC

Maybe use html_entity_decode, that would clean up a lot i think.

I also see that a simple enter messes up a text... with shitty \\r\\n\\r text. Too bad, this has a lot of potential to be a good script. Please fix some of these things... it is not to bash on your script, but simply some well meant advice to take it up a level.

Pumatix2025-03-29 06:28:58 UTC

Too bad... the base script is kinda nice, but there should be some decoding/reencoding of some characters. The apostrophe should definitely work, without it a lot of text will end up like a big mess...\r\n\r\nHTML offcouse should be turned off, but why use en &codes... just erase them from the text when submitting.

Pumatix2025-03-29 06:26:38 UTC

And what happens when i try to use some HTML, let\'s find out.\r\n\r\nFirst a break line.\r\n<br>\r\n\r\nThen a line:\r\n<hr>\r\n\r\nSee some bold text:\r\n<b>here it is</b>\r\n\r\nAnd some underline:\r\n<u>Does that work?</u>\r\n\r\nAnd what about italic?\r\n<i>Let me see about that</i>

Pumatix2025-03-29 06:24:40 UTC

Looks clean and nice... however i notice that \' (apostrophe) does not work. I understand from safety perspective, but for a comment it should be re-encoded again... because people use it quite a lot.
